We have the best grandparents!

Mason received a gift in the mail this week from Great Grandma and Grandpa Russell. They are so sweet to think of us and he will look very handsome in his new shirt!! He is growing so much that we need new clothes all of the time!! And of course, the paper and the box provided an entire evening of entertainment. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa!!

Kentucky Derby Party

We went to a Kentucky Derby party at our friends' house over the weekend. We had fun dressing up in our derby wear and cheering on the jockey from Idaho. Trent helped me sew real lilies onto my hat, and they smelled so good! Unfortunately every time I hugged someone I would sprinkle pollen all over them. Oops.

Mason went crazy in the sandbox. We had to hold him upside down and shake all of the sand out of his hair.

I can't help putting sunglasses on this kid. :) He just looks so good in them!

Visiting Jerome

While Trent went fishing, Mason and I visited friends and family in Jerome. We went to see Grandpa at his classroom at the high school, and as we walked by the football field, I realized that Mason needs to experience his first time on a track! His birth family would be very proud!

Natural History Museum

Mason and I recently met our friends JoEllen, Sal, Nicky and Brooklyn at the Natural History Museum on the University Campus.

We played with cells....

Learned about solar power and how the museum uses them...

Looked out over the valley from the roof...

Played with a few bugs...

Climbed in a shell...

And learned about the largest land mammal. Don't ask me the name of it. But it was huge when it was alive! Mason was ok touching part the nose, but only for a second. Then he was ready to leave. It was pretty scary.

Visit to Seattle

We flew to Seattle for the weekend to visit our Washington friends, as well as Ernie and Jackie who drove up for their spring break! We had a great time seeing everyone, and we visited Pike's Place market, the aquarium, downtown and West Seattle. Mason had so much fun playing with all of his friends. He spent most of the weekend being squished by his bigger "cousins." He loved every second of it.

We drove to Mt Vernon to visit our friends Kathleen and Danny from Canada. Mt. Vernon has a tulip festival every year in the spring. We were a little early for the festival, but since the winter was so warm a lot of them had already bloomed. These are daffodils, but each field was like this, just a solid color of flowers. So beautiful!

Thanks for meeting us Kathleen and Danny! It was great to see you!

We spent our last day in Seattle at the Aquarium with the Garrisons. We saw the giant octopus that tried to escape his tank recently. He seemed pretty comfortable when we saw him though. :)

Mason played with felt fish with Mabel and Nolan.

Mabel on an Orca fin.

Mason liked the scuba diver. He even got a high five from him!

We had a great time seeing our friends and exploring Seattle!
