Natural History Museum
Mason and I recently met our friends JoEllen, Sal, Nicky and Brooklyn at the Natural History Museum on the University Campus.
We played with cells....
Looked out over the valley from the roof...
We played with cells....
Learned about solar power and how the museum uses them...
Played with a few bugs...
Climbed in a shell...
And learned about the largest land mammal. Don't ask me the name of it. But it was huge when it was alive! Mason was ok touching part the nose, but only for a second. Then he was ready to leave. It was pretty scary.
Visit to Seattle
We flew to Seattle for the weekend to visit our Washington friends, as well as Ernie and Jackie who drove up for their spring break! We had a great time seeing everyone, and we visited Pike's Place market, the aquarium, downtown and West Seattle. Mason had so much fun playing with all of his friends. He spent most of the weekend being squished by his bigger "cousins." He loved every second of it.
We drove to Mt Vernon to visit our friends Kathleen and Danny from Canada. Mt. Vernon has a tulip festival every year in the spring. We were a little early for the festival, but since the winter was so warm a lot of them had already bloomed. These are daffodils, but each field was like this, just a solid color of flowers. So beautiful!
Thanks for meeting us Kathleen and Danny! It was great to see you!
We spent our last day in Seattle at the Aquarium with the Garrisons. We saw the giant octopus that tried to escape his tank recently. He seemed pretty comfortable when we saw him though. :)
Mason played with felt fish with Mabel and Nolan.
Mabel on an Orca fin.
Mason liked the scuba diver. He even got a high five from him!
We had a great time seeing our friends and exploring Seattle!

It's almost spring!
It's been 70 degrees all week and our bees are so happy. Our hive has grown quite a bit because of the warm winter, and it's so healthy and full of bees that we are going to split the hive soon. We'll buy another hive and put it in a new location in our yard, then move some of the frames over to the new hive and purchase a new queen. This keeps the hives healthy, if they get too big then the whole hive will swarm. We also plan on purchasing another hive in May and keeping it on one of my doctors' property. We should have plenty of honey in the fall!
Mason and I got to have a visit with Grandma Pam, Aaron, Anna and Aubree this weekend. Mason had a great time crawling all over the floor with all of them and playing with his birthday gift from Anna and Aaron and his Easter gift from Oma and Boompa. Thank you so much everyone! It was great to see you all. The video below is Mason playing with his birthday gift. Anything he can hit with a hammer is a toy worth playing with.
Such a big boy!
Mason took his first steps last week and has been getting better at walking since. He's always very proud of himself and can get into even more mischief now. He has his own language, he talks to us all the time and mimics everything we say. He says "Yeah" to everything and says "Uh-oh" and lots of "Mama" and "Dada." He loves looking out the window at the neighborhood, swimming with Dad on his days off, playing outside in the yard and crawling all over the dog. He's getting more and more fun each day!
